Are the Reds pretenders or contenders? Four games under .500 and eight off the wild card lead aren't insurmountable odds. But the Reds have lacked the consistency this season to make you believe they've actually got a championship run in them. They have six games before the All Star break, three in Chicago and then three in Milwaukee. If they can get within a couple of games of .500 before the break, it may make you at least consider the possibility of the Reds becoming a factor in the 2008 playoff race. If....

The love for Josh Hamilton continues. Tonight, we hear he's been invited to participate in the Home Run Derby next week at the All Star festivities in Yankee Stadium. Now, more props for Hamilton from the Dallas Morning News.
